Description
There are many sensational wine regions in the State to sample, each with its own distinctive notes and signatures. Among them are the international premium wine producers of Margaret River and the Great Southern, but venture a little off the well-known wine trails and you’ll find there are so many more bottled treasures to taste.
By far the most well-known and established wine region in the South West is of course Margaret River, three hours’ drive south of Perth. The signature wines produced by Margaret River wineries include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon. Other regions are Swan Valley in the north, Perth Hills, Peel, Geographe, Blackwood Valley, Manjimup, Mount Barker, Porongrup, Frankland River, Pemberton and the Great Southern
Tonight we have eight wines, two whites and six reds to explore. They are:
Knee Deep 2015 Chenin Blanc, Wilyabrup, Margaret River
Alkoomi 2014 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Frankland River, Great Southern
Xanadu Next of Kin 2011 Shiraz, Margaret River
Sandalford 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Swan Valley
Alkoomi Cabernet White Label 2013 Cabernet Merlot, Frankland River, Great Southern
Ad Lib 2014 Cool Mistress Pinot Noir, Pemberton
